All manuscripts submitted to JZE: Journal of Zakat Economics undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic integrity of published articles.

  1. Initial Editorial Screening
    The editorial team evaluates each submission to ensure its relevance to the journal's focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, and adherence to publication ethics standards.
  2. Plagiarism Screening
    Manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to verify originality before proceeding to the review stage.
  3. Double-Blind Peer Review
    Eligible manuscripts are reviewed through a double-blind peer-review process in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
  4. Reviewer Evaluation
    Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, significance, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, validity of findings, and contribution to the field of study.
  5. Editorial Decision
    Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editor may decide to:
    • Accept the manuscript without revisions;
    • Accept the manuscript with minor revisions;
    • Request major revisions and resubmission;
    • Reject the manuscript.
  6. Revision Process
    Authors are required to address reviewers’ comments and submit a revised version within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
  7. Final Decision
    The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewers' reports, the quality of revisions, and the manuscript's overall contribution to the journal.
  8. Publication
    Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, proofreading, layout editing, and final publication.
